lisavegas420 makes an excellent suggestion. E-mailing the girl that has asked to be posted as a friend could have similar, good results. It would be good for someone like you to mention to her about noticing her profile, that she had a friend (with a picture) on her list promoting an e-mail address to purchase a male enhancement drug, Perhaps if you mention that it is so obvious to you that they are selling illegal drugs. Perhaps she will take down links like that.

the site was filled with pictures, videos, surveys and a whole lot more.
as i clicked on the related sites of my son's friends, i saw that pornographic sites have the abilility to enter kids' sites under the guise of being a friend.

Well said. A waste of imagination, not to mention the waste of time to the many who may have hoped to be educated, at least somewhat.

Monitoring cannot take the place of an in-bred set of safe values. Even adult get into situations "over their heads" because of like of proper direction, despite extra years of trial-and-error.

Q. Bert, have you ever read Revelation 20 and 21 without JW-think playing in your head while you read it? It doesn't really teach what they interpret it as. In fact, many of the interpretations they apply to these chapters are wildly off-base, given the context.
Explain.

Acts 5:42 (from house to house) OR (in private homes)
by rassillon in***i believe i have the correct scripture here but if i don't please correct me.
i have thought a great deal on this topic since i first read it in one of ray franz books isocf.. he had a section that dealt with the greek term translated "house to house" and compared it to other scriptures which contained the same greek phrase and showed that it was likely that it should be translated "in private homes".. now i know that some will make the point that "house to house" is a valid translation and from what i know (which is very little) cannot disagree.. what i can say though is that from my knowledge about life in this period and this area of the world and from my traveling to ruins of ancient citys i would have to agree with franz that the phrase "in private homes" makes more sense because preaching from "house to house/door to door" at that time period would have been extreemely ineffective.
preaching in a public square and then returning with interested ones to their "private homes" for further discussion would make more sense if one was to be effective.. from those with a knowledge of the time/place/culture that this scripture applies to, do you agree with me?

Propaganda is not necessarily a negative term. I find the Kingdom Hall a warm atmosphere myself. Be that as it may, a regular meeting attender, while hearing synoptic views while at the Kingdom Hall, will certainly be exposed to divergent views in much of the day-to-day interaction with others. This allows for conversation, with various opinions being expressed. Understanding is gained in both settings, unlike the tensions experienced in a police state such as Nazi Germany.

Empathy is very important for any counsel to have real success.

Q. Bert, you bring up a very good question and I will give you my answer. The last two years of our marriage I felt like we were roommates not husband and wife. Yes we went on vacation together and slept in the same bed for the most part. There never was any abuse on either side maybe some disagreements but never any abuse. It wasn't until Dave starting taking separate vacations from me did I feel less than a wife.
Thanks, Amanda, for getting this "on the table" for the both of you to look at together. In order for you to feel like you are husband and wife, instead of roommates, or on an extended vacation away from him, what parts of the relationship are different? what parts would still be the same?
So, yes there is still love, friendship, and happiness. But I know in my heart that this was the best thing to do for the time being. If something comes out of this, then so be it.
What has been helpful for you about your time in Kansas? How has your time in Kansas changed your relationship with Dave?
I would more than likely feel like a guest in my own home. But I always did feel that way anyway. I can honestly say this I wasn't your typical wife. I was working 70-80 hours a week when I worked for Burger King, So Dave decorated the apartment. It had to be his showplace. I was just there to cook when we didn't go out to eat. But I will leave this for tonight.
What do you like to do when you are together with him? Since you have sometimes decribed yourself as a loner, what activities can you each do by yourself, while he's still in the next room?
— Wishing you both continued success,
Q. Bert, after all.

I know. I may not stay here in Kansas though. I like it here and this is where my family is, But I have always been a loner. I may move back to TN on my own. I have never really been on my own. When we got married I was 18 and still living with parents, and now that I 31 I am living with parents and my grandmother. well gotta go and get ready for work. Thanks for the offer.
One key question to each of you, as individuals in a couple/partnership/friendship: If you were to both be under the same roof these days, what do you think it would be like... (a) as a host?, (b) as a guest?, and (c) as a long-term companion once again?. Are they 2 different answers? Are there any red flags still outstanding? Love is not blind, but kind. Is there some issue that makes you uncomfortable, being with your mate, that you feel you two can't directly address? Are there any lingering tendencies toward aggression, bitterness, or other abuse that you see... (a) in yourself?, (b) in your mate? Such abuse be an issue, how would/could you deal with it and still show respect for both you and your friend/partner? Wishing you both success. — I am Q. Bert, after all.

At places designated as places of worship, a set curriculum/program/agenda is considered with time alloted narrowly for comments. Questions are part of the schedule. Supplemental questions are generally only asked by the moderator of the discussion.
In what is called the public ministry, questions are expected to go in both directions. In fact, in the public ministry, ideally, it is the public that controls the length of the discussion through interest/lack shown.
So there is definitely a contrast maintained in the application of the Apostle Paul's words, whether when written, or even now.

It is either on JW turf, or it's on public/world (non-JW) turf. JWs are not the public/world, after all. JWs condemn the world by their conduct, just as their Master, Christ Jesus did.
